That's right ESSU 30/30 is back and timed perfectly with Toronto FC's first match of the 2013 pre-season. Waking the Red's Kristin Knowles comes on board to discuss the team heading into their four match tournament, what can be accomplished over this short period, Ryan Nelsen's official arrival at the club and our expectations for the season.

It was pure coincidence that this episode was scheduled the same day as Toronto FC's opener at the Walt Disney Pro Soccer Classic against the Columbus Crew. With more fodder than would have been otherwise, the match took up a good portion of the pod as we went over the game and players as best we could given the challenging broadcast and impressive commentary from Cory GIbbs.
Overall it was as good as could be expected for Ryan Nelsen's first match and it felt more like a run out for as many players as possible than trying to go for a result. With only three games left in preseason it will be interesting to see if any players who are unsigned will have enough of a showing to make an impact worthy of a contract.
After the match there is the usual banter on the going-ons at TFC and wrap it up as only ESSU knows now, lowering expectations for the 2013 season and looking ahead to 2014. You read that right, step one for 2013 is acceptance. It could be another bumpy ride, so buckle up!
