Canadian Kara Lang is a recently retired soccer player and one of the brighest stars that Canada has produced in women's soccer. Lang represented Canada in two FIFA World Cups and the Olympic Games, and played club soccer for Vancouver Whitecaps Women. She is the youngest woman to be named to Canada National Women's Team, making her National Team debut on March 1st, 2002 at the Algarve Cup in Portugal at age 15. Just two days after making her inaugural appearance, she netted a goal against Wales, giving her the title of youngest player ever to score in international competition. After a very successful career at the international level, she retired on January 5, 2011 at the age of 24 due to recurring knee and ACL injuries, after 89 senior caps and 34 goals scored for the Canadian National Women's Team.
